The Brussels’ based European Institute of Peace designs and delivers sustainable peace progress and agreements. They provide practical experiences, technical expertise, and policy avide on conflict resolution with the goal to achieve safety and peace through inclusive dialogue and lasting political agreements. The EIP has identified the need for more coherent and sustainable conflict resolution and prevention with a crucial role attributed to the EU and European actors. The Institute works with national and supranational european decision makers, parties involved in conflicts, the conflict prevention, resolution and mediation community from various levels.
The EIP sees climate change as adding to the complexity of conflict prevention and resolution. The Institute aims to identify and seize any openings that these threats create to engage in dialogue, to reduce violence, and to secure peace agreements, while working with others to ensure that the responses to climate change address the underlying drivers of conflict as laid out in the “Strategic Plan 2020-2022”.
