The SPS aims towards the promotion of dialogue and practical cooperation between NATO Member states and partner nations concerning scientific research, technological innovation and knowledge exchange in a changing security environment. It further offers funding, expert advice, and support to security relevant activities that respond to NATO’s strategic objectives.
The SPS therefore contributed to NATO’s efforts to project stability and defence capacity building, guided by the key priorities that address security challenges. These include counter-terrorism and cyber defense, develop innovative security-related technologies, provide support to NATO-led missions and operations, and consider human and social aspects of security.
